Gallery Nev was established in 1984 by two architects with the aim of organising outstanding exhibitions of paintings and sculpture, mainly by contemporary Turkish artists who have won international recognition.

In between the years 1984 and 1988, over 250 exhibitions have been held in the Nev Galleries in Ankara and Istanbul. These have included works by different European artists; among these original engravings by Picasso, Bonnard, Dali, Carl-Henning Pedersen, Léopold Lévy and Antonio Saura.

Gallery Nev is unique in also editing art publications, with 11 collections of original prints, over a hundred limited edition reproductions and 60 volumes of art books and exhibition catalogues.

Of the 250 existing art galleries in Turkey, Gallery Nev is the first one to venture into the field of international art fairs, in addition to curating exhibitions at home and abroad. The gallery has also pioneered the foundation of major art associations in Turkey in addition to guiding the formation of the art collection of the Central Bank.
