| 1947 |
After studying at Kurtulus Middle School under Esref Uren Cevdet earned the right to participate in a seminar held at the Istanbul Education Institute. After the seminar closed he continued his education at the Bolu teacher training college. |
| 1950 |
Cevdet entered the G.E.E. Art Department where he studied under Refik Epikman, Malik Aksel and Ferit Apa. |
| 1953 |
After graduating Cevdet started teaching in the Dicle Primary School before starting his military service, during which he served in the Korean conflict. |
| 1960 |
His military service complete, Cevdet returned to teaching in the Ankara area until taking up a position as set designer for the National Theatre |
| 1995 |
After 35 years as a set designer for the National Theatre, Opera and Ballet companies, Cevdet retired. He painted throught this time. |

Cevdet Batur was awarded a special prize for 50 years of contribution to the cause of Turkish Art by the then Minister for Culture, Timucin Savas. |
