1947 After studying at Kurtulus Middle School under Esref Uren Cevdet earned the right to participate in a seminar held at the Istanbul Education Institute. After the seminar closed he continued his education at the Bolu teacher training college.
1950 Cevdet entered the G.E.E. Art Department where he studied under Refik Epikman, Malik Aksel and Ferit Apa.
1953 After graduating Cevdet started teaching in the Dicle Primary School before starting his military service, during which he served in the Korean conflict.
1960 His military service complete, Cevdet returned to teaching in the Ankara area until taking up a position as set designer for the National Theatre
1995 After 35 years as a set designer for the National Theatre, Opera and Ballet companies, Cevdet retired. He painted throught this time.

1995 Cevdet Batur was awarded a special prize for 50 years of contribution to the cause of Turkish Art by the then Minister for Culture, Timucin Savas.
